How to make dartboard out of wood
we make it easy for you how to make a dartboard with simple easy steps without spending any kind of money
Cut the plywood sheet into a circle
Using a jigsaw, cut the plywood sheet into a circle shape. Make sure it is around 18 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. You can use a compass to draw a circle on the plywood sheet before cutting.
Sand the edges of the circle
Using sandpaper with grit size 100, sand the edges of the circle to make them smooth. Then, use sandpaper with grit size 220 to make the surface of the circle smooth.
Stain or paint the plywood
Apply wood stain or paint to the plywood surface using a paintbrush. Apply a generous coat of stain or paint, and allow it to dry completely. Apply a second coat if needed.
Find the centre of the circle
To find the centre of the circle, draw two perpendicular lines across the surface of the plywood using a ruler and pencil. The lines should cross at the centre of the circle. Mark the centre point with a pencil.
Place the dartboard wire ring on the plywood
Place the dartboard wire ring over the circle, with the centre of the ring aligned with the mark you made in step 4. Use masking tape to secure the ring in place.
Drill holes around the perimeter of the dartboard
Use a drill with a 1/4 inch drill bit to make holes around the perimeter of the dartboard, through the wire ring and the plywood. The holes should be evenly spaced, around 1 inch apart.
Secure the wire ring to the plywood
Insert the screws through the holes from the back of the board, and tighten them with a screwdriver. This will secure the wire ring in place.
Attach the dartboard numbers
Use a hammer to attach the dartboard numbers to the board, in the correct sequence. The numbers should be evenly spaced and start with 20 at the top, then 1 at the bottom.
Attach the sawtooth hanger
Attach a sawtooth hanger to the back of the board, so it can be hung on a wall.
